Chào bạn, hello, welcome back to my blog.
When I was but a wee guppy, around toddler age, I started doing this weird thing where I would grab my parents and brothers' earlobes and wiggle them back and forth while saying some Grantian expression which roughly translated to "Red Green". In fact, my speech really wasn't coherent most of the time at this stage in my life. As my mother later explained, my mind wanted to say things faster than I was physically able to, thus little Grant often ended up speaking an adorable, yet incomprehensible dialect of gibberish. I've come a long way in my ability to effectively communicate with others, yet, I still find myself trying to say more than time permits. This phenomena has manifested itself in my blog posts; I realize that my posts thus far have been a scattered recollection of my itinerary interspersed with terse cultural analysis and many a witty remark. I recognize that I tend to go on tangents and can get distracted as easily as our friend Doug, here.

I don't blame Doug, I mean, it's a Jedi Squirrel. Who wouldn't want to see?
However, as much fun as it would be to metaphorically wiggle your earlobes, chant "Red Green Red Green Red Green", and spew anything and everything that crosses my mind, I really want this blog to be more of a reflection of my experiences and interactions in Vietnam. I've already learned so much in my brief time here about my fellow Duke Engagers, post-War Vietnam, and myself.
So, from now on, I'm going to organize my posts based on a single train of thought so we both don't get lost. *sorry if I seem dramatic*
Each post will be organized based on a categoried index system comprised of
5. Tomfoolery
Thanks so much for reading my blog! I'm off to visit the Vietnam War Museum in Ho Chi Minh City now, but I'll post again soon. I'll probably write something about the Vietnamese language because that's something I've been really focusing on for the past week. Cảm ơn!
